Service Projects

FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS
   
The sole purpose of the Findlay Kiwanis Foundation is to raise funds for and present scholarships to local students.  
    In 2008, five $1000 scholarships were awarded to Findlay High and Hancock County high school seniors.
HOBY
    HOBY's mission is "to seek out, recognize and develop leadership potential commencing with high school sophomores, and to encourage and prepare the next generation of civic and corporate leadership for America's future."
KEY LEADER PROGRAM
   
Key Leader on service leadership as the first, most meaningful leadership development experience. A Key Leader will learn the most important lesson of leadership— leadership comes from helping others succeed.  
Participation in the program begins with attending a Key Leader conference, which is a weekend retreat. Since 2005, there have been more than 11,000 graduates throughout the United States, Canada, Grand Cayman, Brazil, El Salvador and Malaysia. 
KIWANIS SANTA'S HOUSE
    Kiwanis Santa's House is a branded community service project held every year at Christmas.
    Santa and Mrs. Claus entertain & provide Christmas presents for every visiting child without cost to the child and their family.
PARKS PROJECT
   
We provide manpower & monies to improve different parks. Litzenberg Park (operated by the Hancock County Park system) has been our main project.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS OF HANCOCK COUNTY
   
A new service endeavor is to aid the Special Olympics of Hancock County program to remain solvent and active.  Fundraisers and other support activities are sponsored by the club. 
YOUNG CHILDREN - PRIORITY ONE
   
Young Children: Priority One is the ongoing service program of Kiwanis International, addressing the needs of children prenatal through age five.
